Stewart's Americian Martial Art System (SAMAS) teaches the method of self-offense which includes the art of Ukemi (falls and rolls),
stances, throws, wrist and finger locks, a variety of kicks, punches, hand techniques and strike blocks. All of which can be used in any confrontation.
The system promotes physical fitness, mental discipline and concentration. The style and integration of body, mind and spirit. Its goal is to develop awareness of the spirtual self as well as the physical. In strengthening the body and training the mind, one not only acquires the physical skills to protect oneself, but also the confidence and will power to implement them. §
The training given in SAMAS acquaints the student with the different methods used by potential opponents in a violent confrontation. The instruction enable the student to cope with any given situation. When combined with physical training,
meditation will lead the student to a self-disciplined calmness of mind. Through meditation the unification of the mind and body is realized; development of a more capable and integrated individual is achieved. §
